Fedarene and EU Enlargement
Fedarene, the European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agencies, has just published its Fedarene Info issue n°21 on enlargement.
Some Fedarene members have close contact with candidate countries and they present here their activities.
In the interview, Christiane Breznik, responsible for the region East of the Interreg III C programme gives an overview on it.
At the last General Assembly of FEDARENE, in Berlin, Roger Léron was elected President and Michael Geißler was re-elected Secretary General of the Federation.
FEDARENE is the European network of regional and local organisations that implement, co-ordinate and facilitate energy and environment policies. The next three years will be a challenge especially with regard to climate and energy politics. Priorities will be for example the introduction of energy and environmental standards in the accession countries of the EU as well as the energy service directive announced by the European Commission.
