Europe? And what about journalism in Europe. The recent
opening of the European Parliament to ten more countries made us wonder about the state
of journalism in Europe. An enquiry which shows great disparities of statute depending
if one is in Great Britain, Switzerland, Greece or in other countries to be added soon
to this case file. Mentalities are very different in the media community from one country
to another yet the problems relating to newspapers, in any language, appear identical:
labour problems and a strengthening competition with the web where more and more readers
go to get their "fresh" news. We hope that, in all instances, this "European Special" will
